Aims and Objectives:
The knowledge and skills obtained on the ACLS for Experienced Providers Course includes an update of ACLS Provider skills as well as advanced adjuncts for oxygenation, ventilation and airway control, devices to assist circulation, emergency cardiovascular care pharmacology, peri-arrest arrhythmias, life-threatening causes of chest pain, advanced acute coronary syndromes, life-threatening electrolyte and acid-base abnormalities, toxicology, hypothermia and submersion, severe asthma and anaphylaxis, cardiac arrest associated with pregnancy, shock, pulmonary oedema and hypotension, trauma, electric shock and lightning strikes, medico-legal aspects and ethical considerations, and post-resuscitation stabilization and care.
Target Audience:
The ACLS for Experienced Providers Course is designed for any healthcare professional who is in possession of a current American Heart Association ACLS Provider Certificate. It is ideal for EMS, Emergency Department and ICU staff, and particularly medical practitioners who regularly participate in resuscitation attempts or who would like to receive in-depth knowledge and skill in a wide range of challenging emergency situations.
Course Structure:
The ACLS for Experienced Providers Course is an intense practical and case-based Course that covers both common and special resuscitation situations and challenging emergency situations. Learning is facilitated by discussion and hands-on practice, guided by positive and constructive feedback.
Assessment and Preparation:
A comprehensive 444-page American Heart Association ACLS Resource Text for Instructors and Experienced Providers is supplied prior to Course participation. Participation on the ACLS for Experienced Providers Course requires possession of a current American Heart Association ACLS Certificate. Candidates will receive an American Heart Association ACLS for Experienced Providers Card and Certificate upon successful completion of the Course.

ACLS and PALS Update course

The ALS update courses are available to persons with a current ACLS or PALS certificate that is about to expire; and who have the most current edition of the manual.

Paediatric Advanced Life Support Provider

The Course is available to any healthcare professional who is registered as a Medical or Dental Practitioner, Intern, Junior Intern, Professional Nurse or Advanced Life Support Paramedic. Participants must be in possession of a valid AHA BLS for Healthcare Provider Certificate.

Advanced Neonatal Life Support Course

The Course is the evidence-based Neonatal Resuscitation Program designed by the American Academy of Pediatrics in association with the American Heart Association for healthcare professionals whose responsibilities may require them to manage or participate in the resuscitation of a newborn.

Emergency ECG and Pharmacology Course

The Course is designed for all healthcare professionals whose responsibilities require them to recognize and interpret life-threatening arrhythmias and ECG rhythms, and to provide initial emergency care and appropriate pharmacological interventions.

Advanced Medical Life Support for Doctors

The Advanced Medical Life Support Course is particularly designed for medical practitioners who might be called upon to recognize and manage a patient with an acute or life-threatening medical emergency.

Peadiatric ALS for Experienced Providers

The Course is available to any healthcare professional who is registered as a Medical or Dental Practitioner, Intern, Junior Intern, Professional Nurse or Advanced Life Support Paramedic. Participants must be in possession of a valid AHA BLS for Healthcare Provider Certificate.

ACLS for Experienced Providers

The Course is designed for any healthcare professional who is in possession of a current American Heart Association ACLS Provider Certificate. It is ideal for EMS, Emergency Department and ICU staff, and particularly medical practitioners who regularly participate in resuscitation attempts.
